Eternal Fury – Gods, lend me your strength!
Browser MMORPG – This time we got our hands on Eternal Fury, a recently released free to play MMORPG that was just released in Europe. What exactly a Eternal Furyis and what you can expect from this beautiful looking browser game will be covered in our review of: Eternal Fury.
Official Eternal Fury Trailer
Eternal Fury, much like most similar games, follows the traditional gameplay of any given MMORPG. Starting out as Mr. Nobody, you might have the talent to become a proper hero, but you sure don’t have either the wealth or the equipment of a hero. Thankfully there is always something to do for an aspiring champion and therefore you can amass riches, gear and other useful items by either completing quests or simply slaying countless of monsters. The choice is yours and once your character begins to evolve, more and more tasks and different gameplay options become available, making sure that there is always a mountain to climb or another goal to aim for.
Mage, Archer or Warrior?:
In terms of playable classes, Eternal Fury is keeping it classy. As for now you can select between three playable classes: Mage, Archer and Warrior. While that might seem a bit slim at first glance, the classes themselves play out very differently. During our initial testing we basically played them all for several hours and really felt that they don’t just offer some intriguing mechanics but also favor very specific characteristics and play styles. Especially the mage is worth mentioning, since the devastating art of elemental magic is beautifully integrated into the game and becomes some true eye candy once the mages gains access to some of the more powerful spells in the game.
Smack a god and use its powers:
Aside from the usual classes, Eternal Fury introduced the so called “Deity System”. The Deity System is basically working like a modern version of Mega Man games. It goes like this: At some point in the game you will encounter several ancient gods, each of those gods has a unique power, such as Odin for example is pretty well trained in using lightning based attacks. Once you managed to beat the Deity, you can access to its power, providing a huge buff to your overall combat capacities. Therefore it is highly recommended trying to grab as many godly powers as possible, even though some of the fights can become pretty tricky if your character isn’t developed enough at that point. But then again, isn’t that exactly what makes you want to have that specific power even more?
Off to space! Wait, what?:
So, here we have a game that has the three most common classes in RPG history, a cool system where you can acquire the power of gods and what else might be missing at this point? Correct! Space vessels! Yup, in Eternal Fury you will eventually get your own space ship, being able to visit far away planets and fight the countless threats that are lurking in the dark corners of the universe. Now that was a design choice that bewildered us at first, but taking a closer look we simply have to appreciate this neat little feature, since your own space ship is fully customizable and you can even morph its whole appearance to your personal liking.
